​Molly Rice

DVM, CVA

Molly Rice, is the owner and veterinarian at Coastal Holistic Inc. With over 18 years of experience, Molly’s journey in veterinary care began with a deep love for animals. She holds a B.S. in Animal Physiology and Neuroscience from UC San Diego and completed her veterinary degree at UC Davis Veterinary School.

Molly’s career includes roles as a small animal veterinary technician and expertise in large animal physical therapy, MRI, and CT technology. She also spent time as an equine exercise rider. Inspired by holistic approaches to veterinary care, Molly pursued further training at the International Veterinary Acupuncture School (IVAS), Parker Chiropractic College for Animal Chiropractic, and the Oakland Institute of Herbology for Chinese Herbal Medicine.

In 2003, Molly founded Coastal Holistic in Pacifica, driven by her commitment to holistic healing. She emphasizes the importance of nutrition for the health of animals and humans alike.

Kari De Leeuw

DVM, VSMT, CVA, CIVT

Dr. Kari De Leeuw graduated with honors from Cornell University and received her veterinary degree from UC Davis in 2002. Her career includes a post-graduate internship at Pilchuck Veterinary Hospital, in WA where she specialized in chiropractic and acupuncture.

Kari is certified in Veterinary Spinal Manipulative Therapy (chiropractic care) from the Healing Oasis Wellness Center and holds an acupuncture certification from IVAS. She also uses Traditional Chinese Herbal Medicine, learned mostly from the Chi Institute.

As an athlete herself, Kari enjoys nutrition and keeping her patients as comfortable and strong as possible. She earned her Certification in Clinical Integrative Canine Rehabilitation from CIVT. At Coastal Holistic, she is known for putting most animals on a nutrition plan and sending clients home with massage and exercise homework for their pets.

Kari is very compassionate about helping her patients have the best life they can, whether they are puppies, or older dogs with arthritis or cancer. Having a calm gentle way with the animals and a pocket full of treats almost always helps win them over.

Steve Randle

DVM

With over two decades of experience, Steve’s dedication to animal well-being and the human-animal bond is unwavering. His expertise includes extensive experience in anesthesia for cats and dogs, providing peace of mind to pet owners. He believes in nurturing the human-animal bond by keeping pets healthy and happy, enriching the lives of both animals and their human companions.

Originally from the western slopes of Colorado, Steve earned a B.S. in Biology from Stanford University in 1997, before pursuing his Doctorate in Veterinary Medicine at the UC Davis.

Briana Valenzuela

VT

Briana Valenzuela is a dedicated Veterinary Technician at Coastal Holistic Veterinary Services with 14 years of experience. Her journey began in 2020, driven by her passion for animal well-being.

Briana completed her Animal Health Technology program in 2009. Her deep love for animals and a desire to make a positive impact led her to her career as a Veterinary Technician. She is known for her compassion and commitment to animal welfare, making a positive change in the lives of animals every day.

Deb Ortiz

VT

Deb Ortiz plays a vital role within Coastal Holistic as both Office Manager and Veterinary Technician since April 13th, 2021. With 24 years in the veterinary industry, Deb excels at bridging administrative tasks and hands-on animal care.

Deb’s lifelong affinity for pets led her naturally into the veterinary field, starting as a kennel attendant and mastering technical skills along the way. She embodies compassion, dedication, and a profound commitment to both animals and the people who cherish them.

Rebecca Dunagan

RVT

With 16 years of experience as a Veterinary Technician, Rebecca brings expertise and passion to her role as a Registered Veterinary Technician.

Originally from Southern California, Rebecca made Pacifica her home in 2011. Her career choice was guided by her deep affinity for animals, starting at a young age. Embodying compassion, she sees her work as a voice for those who can’t express their needs.

Outside of work, Rebecca’s life revolves around her canine companion, Russell, a dachshund mix. She embraces a vegan lifestyle and is passionate about animal welfare, hiking, attending concerts, and photography.

Daniela Pacheco

Veterinary Assistant

Daniela has been a valued Veterinary Assistant at Coastal Holistic since 2019. Despite starting with little prior experience in the veterinary field, Daniela’s passion for animal care led her to immerse herself in the industry, where she quickly expanded her knowledge beyond her initial role as a receptionist.

Growing up surrounded by rescue pets, Daniela has always felt a deep emotional connection to animals of all kinds. She cherishes her work for its ability to give voice to animals’ needs and provide them with the care they deserve.

Cynthia Di Pietro

Receptionist

Originally from France, Cynthia’s life has taken her across continents, including Australia and Singapore, before settling in California five years ago. Her educational background encompasses humanities and IT studies, reflecting her versatile career in IT, customer service, and marketing. Cynthia made a meaningful impact during her tenure at Guide Dogs in Australia.

Jay’s journey into the veterinary world began at SAGE Veterinary Specialty and Emergency in Redwood City. Early experiences like this one, especially during emergency hours, solidified his belief in the significance of the veterinary field, where he can form strong bonds with both pets and their owners.
