Picture of Dr. Molly Rice Molly Rice DVM, CVA

Dr. Molly Rice is a holistic veterinarian who believes that the combination of Eastern and Western medicine opens the door to a wide scope of treatment options. She holds a BS degree in Animal Physiology and Neuroscience from UC San Diego and is a UC Davis veterinary school graduate.

She worked with holistic veterinarian Dr. Ihor Basko in Kauai for a year, and has also studied with the International Veterinary Acupuncture Society (IVAS) and the Institute of Chinese Herbology. She has worked at San Francisco Veterinary Specialists since 2003 and continues to work there part-time. In her spare time, Molly enjoys surfing, snowboarding, and riding her thoroughbreds Zephyr and Felix.

Originally from San Diego, Dr. DeLeeuw graduated with honors from Cornell University and went on to get her veterinary degree at UC Davis. She did a post-graduate internship at Pilchuck Veterinary Hospital near Seattle from 2002 to 2008. There she worked at the Alternative Medicine Center where she focused on chiropractic and acupuncture. She has been at Coastal Holistic since 2008 and loves feeding her patients the dried anchovies and winning their trust with her gentle approach.

Dr. DeLeeuw completed her chiropractic certification at the Healing Oasis Wellness Center in Wisconsin and earned her acupuncture certification from the IVAS. She has studied Traditional Chinese Herbal Medicine with the Chi Institute and has an upcoming trip planned for more in depth study in China.
